Tree of interactions
Tree of interactions is a structure, with which I tried to present the possible interactions any chosen viewpoint entity can observe, experience or participate in.
Below, I will try to explain and further categorise the possible kinds of interactions presented on the tree of interactions:
Structure of the tree of interactions
The tree of interactions presents 4 rows with different entities, which mean (described from top to bottom):
- first (top) row – a chosen viewpoint entity / an observer – an entity from whose perspective a given interaction is considered
- second row – agent – an entity which puts some force
- third row – object/receiver – an entity on which force is being put by the agent
- fourth row – referent – an entity relative to who the agent directs an object
Basic categorisation of the interactions
Participation $(a,\_,\_)$, $(b,a,\_)$
Participation is an interaction, in which a viewpoint entity itself participates.
I distinguish between active and passive participation.
Active participation $(a,\_,\_)$
Active participation I consider to be a set of two main types of interactions, in which a viewpoint entity occurs as an agent.
Action and reception – active and reflexive participation $(a,a,\_)$
E.g. a viewpoint acting on itself
Action only – active and transitive participation $(a,b,\_)$
E.g. a viewpoint acting on another
Passive participation $(b,a,\_)$
In a passive participation a viewpoint entity occurs only as an object/receiver.
Reception only – passive and transitive participation $(b,a,\_)$
E.g. a viewpoint being acted on by an entity other than the viewpoint
Bystanding $(b,b,\_)$, $(b,c,\_)$
Bystanding I consider to be an interaction, which doesn’t concern the viewpoint entity in such a direct way, as a participation. The viewpoint can be aware or unaware of the interaction, observe it, and also react to them.
With being concerned $(b,b,a)$, $(b,c,a)$
In this interaction, a viewpoint occurs only as a referent entity.
Without being concerned – the rest of interactions
This is the set of interactions, which a viewpoint can observe and react to, but which don’t somewhat concern it.
Signs/valence of interactions
One could also consider the interactions above along with the sign or direction, in which the agent directs the object relative to a referent.
(+) Towards the referent
A sign, signifying a centripetal direction of force in an interaction.
That is, such, in which the agent is directing the object towards the referent.
(-) Away from the referent
A sign, signifying a centrifugal direction of force in an interaction.
That is, such, in which the agent is directing the object away from the referent.
Summary
The interactions presented by the tree of interactions are what I speculate to be the full set with all possible interactions of any entity with any other types of entities.
If you had any more ideas about the possible categorisation of these interactions, or would find some names, which would describe them even more accurately, you can share it in the comments!
